Life After Rent
We’re not about that one-wear life here at Nuuly. The pick-me-up purchase that sees the light of day once, then goes unworn in the closet until it’s donated or (gulp) tossed? We do everything we can to avoid that cycle by extending the life of our rentals, but eventually, all good things must come to an end. So, what happens to rentals when they’re no longer rentable?
Re_Nuuly
Our in-house upcycling initiative, Re_Nuuly gives rentals nearing the limits of wearability a new lease on life by transforming them into something entirely new. For example, in summer 2023, we partnered with The Series to create more than 500 pairs of jorts from decommissioned Nuuly denim.
Nuuly Marketplace
Hundreds of out-of-circulation Nuuly items are up for grabs on Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Free People—they’re our sister brands, ICYMI. They’ve been rented and loved, then professionally cleaned and repaired by our team. Some of them are imperfect, but maybe one’s perfect for you!
Purchased From A Nuuly
Some of our garments reach the end of their rented life by finding their forever homes with subscribers. Remember, if you fall in love with a rental, you can buy it instead of sending it back—and you’ll probably get a nice little discount while you’re at it.
You know, saying goodbye to rentals we love isn’t always easy, but a lot of the time it’s more like, “See you around!” and that’s not so bad.
